Tesla is delivering FSD V14 Lite to Hardware 3 vehicles — the first major FSD update for roughly 4 million HW3 cars that had been on older builds (around v12.6) for over a year.

What it is: A distilled (compressed) version of the full FSD v14 neural network used on HW4/AI4 cars. The model is reduced so it fits HW3’s much smaller memory and compute budget while still bringing many of the same driving improvements.

  • Speed profiles, start self-driving from park, improved merges, intersections, and low-speed maneuvers
  • Smoother city driving and better reaction times reported by many early users
  • Still a supervised Level 2 system — hands-on and attentive driving required
